A wide range of Speech, Language and Communication training courses are available to support professionals in the following areas:

Enhanced Training

- Elklan 0-3 and 3-5 — evidence-informed training that teaches strategies to support children’s speech and language development. See Barnsley Speech and Language Therapy training page.
- EAL Champions & Word Aware — supports practitioners in becoming language champions and identifying a structured approach for children with EAL to acquire a rich and varied vocabulary.
- Language Ladder — training to support professionals working with pre-school children with delayed language skills.
Launchpad for Literacy
Launchpad for Literacy is a systematic, skills-based approach that identifies the skills and knowledge children already have, and the next steps in their learning. All Barnsley Primary Schools have access to Launchpad for Literacy.
