Where do I go if I need an extra helping hand?

You might have some concerns about your child’s talking and need a helping hand. You can speak to:

  • Barnsley’s 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service
  • Your child’s health visitor on 01226 774411
  • Your child’s Doctor/GP
  • Your child’s childminder, nursery staff or teacher
  • A member of staff in your local family hub
  • Your child’s social worker/family support worker if you have one

You can also find guidance online if you’re feeling worried. Speech and Language UK provides advice on how to support your child if you are worried about their talking.

Please speak to someone if you’re feeling concerned — there is lots of support available in Barnsley to help your family thrive.
